Shoalcoast is committed to working towards making the law and its administration more socially and legally just. Our goals are to: Identify laws and policies that are unjust, especially those that affect socially and economically disadvantaged groups Encourage attention to, and discussion of these laws in the broader community Lobby for changes to these laws and their operation Lobby for change to any inequitable policies and practices of government agencies and other institutions We welcome input from the community regarding current law reform issues: ie what do you think should be changed? Examples of Recent Law Reform Projects:Lobbying for Jervis Bay Territory to have regular access to a mainstream Legal Aid Service. Provision or free advice and representation to Territory residents has now commenced, under an arrangement between the Commonwealth and NSW Legal Aid Commission.
